Laos Luang Prabang, LDPE Film Waste Low-Noise plastic pelletizing machine  Successful Case

Background: Ms. Phoun, a 46-year-old primary school graduate with 12 years of plastic recycling experience, operates a small recycling factory in Luang Prabang’s Chanthaboury District. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and top tourist destination, Luang Prabang generates 300 tons of LDPE film waste monthly (including packaging films and plastic bags) from hotels, restaurants, and local markets. Her factory processes 2.5 tons of LDPE film daily, but her old plastic pelletizing machine  was noisy and inefficient—leading to frequent complaints from nearby residents and tourists, and risking factory shutdown under Luang Prabang’s strict noise regulations for tourist areas. She needed a low-noise plastic pelletizing machine  that could operate quietly while maintaining high efficiency.

The Challenge

Ms. Phoun faced three major threats to her business survival. First, her old LDPE Film plastic pelletizing machine  produced 92 dB of noise—far exceeding Luang Prabang’s 70 dB limit for tourist zones—triggering numerous complaints and a formal warning from local authorities. Second, the old  granulator struggled with thin LDPE films (common in tourist packaging), causing feeding difficulties and a low output of just 150 kg/h. Third, its single-layer filter left 13% of granules defective, forcing her to sell at a low price of 2,300 LAK/kg. Unlike other suppliers, we offered a noise-reduction plastic pelletizing machine  solution tailored to Luang Prabang’s tourist area regulations and local after-sales support—critical for her remote location.

The Solution

We customized a TL-120 granulator optimized for Luang Prabang’s LDPE film waste and strict noise regulations. This low-noise  granulator was designed to address her noise and efficiency issues, with key features including:

  • A full-body sound insulation cover with noise-absorbing material, reducing the granulator’s operating noise to 65 dB—fully complying with Luang Prabang’s tourist area standards and eliminating resident and tourist complaints.
  • A wind suction automatic feeding system, solving the problem of thin LDPE film feeding difficulties and ensuring stable, consistent feeding for the plastic pelletizing machine .
  • A dual-layer filter (80-mesh + 100-mesh), removing 99.7% of impurities and eliminating granule defects—significantly improving product quality from the granulator.
  • A high-temperature melting system (160-180°C), ensuring full melting of LDPE films for uniform, high-quality granules from the granulator.
  • Local after-sales support in Luang Prabang, with a dedicated technician available within 6 hours for maintenance of the granulator—minimizing production downtime.

Our pre-sales team conducted on-site noise tests, provided a detailed noise-reduction plan for the plastic pelletizing machine , and trained Ms. Phoun’s 4 staff members on equipment operation and maintenance to maximize the  granulator’s output efficiency.

The Results

After 3 months of operation, the TL-120 granulator transformed her factory: 1. Noise was reduced to 65 dB, eliminating all complaints and ensuring stable, uninterrupted operation of the granulator. 2. Feeding efficiency improved by 86.7%, increasing the  granulator’s output from 150 kg/h to 280 kg/h—boosting daily production from 2.5 tons to 5.6 tons. 3. 99.3% of granules from the plastic pelletizing machine  were defect-free, meeting LDPE film industry standards, allowing Ms. Phoun to sell at 3,500 LAK/kg and increasing her monthly profit by 189,000,000 LAK. 4. Maintenance costs for the granulator fell by 48%, saving 43,200,000 LAK per year. 5. She secured a long-term contract with a Luang Prabang hotel chain for a steady supply of LDPE waste to process with the granulator. “Thisgranulator is low-noise, efficient, and tourist-friendly; it saved my business and let me expand without disturbing visitors,” said Ms. Phoun.
